CHILDREN (Sacraments of Initiation)
Baptism preparation: Parents are asked to make an appointment to see the Parish Priest to discuss their desire to have their child baptised. One parent and one godparent must be a baptised and confirmed Catholic. Baptisms usually take place at 12pm on Sundays and very occasionally during Sunday Mass.
First Reconciliation (Confession) & Holy Communion preparation: The parish has a team of catechists so the preparation for these sacraments can take place in the parish rather than at school. At present the preparation takes place after the 5pm Mass on Saturdays and includes both children and parents. The requirements for receiving these sacraments are attendance at Sunday Mass and all of the preparation classes. Contact Fr Patrick or Karen Kelly
Confirmation preparation: Confirmation preparation takes place in the primary school for Year 6 pupils. Those who are not at a Catholic school should contact the Parish Priest so that alternative arrangememts can be made. Contact Jackie Biddle
ADULTS
Marriage Preparation: Couples intending to get married are asked to make an appointment to see the Parish Priest and to see him at 4 subsequent times closer to the wedding to discuss the meaning of Christian Marriage and the Wedding Ceremony.
Adult Catechesis: Adult education takes place on Monday evenings in term time. The Programme is for those who wish to learn more about the Faith and for those who are looking to be received into full communion with the Church.
